Hemp Chai - Hemp Chai Tea 50 g - Dutch Harvest loose tea

Hemp Chai starts with hemp grown in Groningen and builds Ayurvedic chai spices and lemongrass on top of it. The spicing is what you taste first, spicy and a little sweet; the lemongrass cuts back through it with a fresh, citrus note, which is why this blend works as well over ice in July as it does steaming in January.

Brewing

• One teaspoon per cup, or two tablespoons per litre
• Pour over boiling water
• Steep for 5 to 7 minutes

It is loose tea, so use a strainer, a paper tea filter or a teapot with a filter built in.

Making a hemp chai latte

Brew it stronger than you would for a plain cup, a generous teaspoon per cup, and give it the full 5 to 7 minutes in boiling water. Strain it, then mix it with warm frothed milk or a plant-based alternative and sweeten with honey or sugar if you like.

About the hemp

Dutch Harvest grows its hemp organically in Oude Pekela, in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is industrial hemp and contains no THC, the substance with the psychoactive effect, so this tea cannot get you stoned or high. It does contain CBD, which works differently from THC and is not psychoactive either. There is no published CBD content per bag or per cup, so we cannot give you a figure.
