Caffè Vergnano coffee beans at Café du Jour

Caffè Vergnano is an Italian roaster known for espresso. The range at Café du Jour is compact: four blends, all sold as whole beans in 1 kg bags. That suits anyone who drinks espresso or milk coffee every day and grinds the beans fresh for each cup.

The Most sold coffee beans package (4 x 1 kg) is listed in this category as well.

How to choose between the blends

The Italian names give you a first clue. Delicato means delicate, so Aroma Mio Delicato is the one to look at if you prefer a gentler cup, while Espresso is named after the drink it is made for. For a real comparison, open the product pages: they list the details we have for each blend, such as the strength on our scale out of 13 and the roast level.

Still unsure? The preview package lets you taste three bags side by side and then reorder the one you like.

Which machine suits these beans?

Whole beans in a 1 kg bag work best where you grind just before brewing:

  • Bean-to-cup machine: pour the beans into the hopper and the built-in grinder does the rest. See also our coffee beans for bean-to-cup machines.
  • Espresso machine with a portafilter: you need a grinder that goes fine enough for espresso. Have a look at our coffee grinders.
  • Moka pot, cafetière or filter: these beans work here too, as long as you grind a little coarser for a moka pot and coarse for a cafetière.

A 1 kg bag lasts a while. Keep it well closed, away from light and heat, and only fill the hopper with what you will use in a few days.
