Idee Kaffee Espresso Intense box discount

Idee Kaffee Espresso Intense comes as 1 kg of whole beans, roasted intensely for espresso. The aroma is deep rather than bright, the body is full, and the flavour that stands out is dark chocolate.

Steamed before roasting

What sets this coffee apart is a step that happens before the roaster: the green beans are treated with steam. That treatment reduces the bitterness in the bean, so the roast can be pushed to this depth without the harsh, scorched edge that strong espresso blends often carry. What reaches the cup is smooth and harmonious, with the intensity intact.

In the cup

As an espresso it is thick and dark, with the chocolate note sitting under the aroma. Because the body holds up, it does not disappear in milk either: in a cappuccino or a latte macchiato you still taste the coffee rather than a beige memory of it. On the Café du Jour scale it is a 10 out of 13, so it belongs with the strong end of the range and suits anyone who finds a medium blend too polite in the morning.
