Details
Mövenpick Espresso is a dark-roasted blend of Arabica and Robusta beans, sold as whole beans in a 1 kg pack. The beans come from Brazil, Colombia and Vietnam, and the coffee is produced in Germany. In the cup you get chocolaty and nutty notes with the fuller character of a dark roast.
How strong is it?
Strong. On the Café du Jour scale it rates 10 out of 13. Mövenpick uses its own scale, which runs to 10, and gives this coffee an intensity of 9/10. Either way it sits near the top end: a coffee for people who like a bold cup.
Brewing
A bean-to-cup machine grinds these beans fresh for every cup. With a portafilter machine, grind them fine for espresso and drink the shot straight or use it as the base for a cappuccino. For filter coffee, set the grinder slightly coarser.
