How it tastes
Chocolaty and nutty up front, a strong body through the middle, and a spicy finish that lingers. The beans are roasted medium to dark, and at 9 out of 13 on the Café du Jour scale this sits firmly in the strong coffee camp — the Robusta in the blend is a good part of why.
What to make with it
It is versatile for a bean this strong. As an espresso it is at its most concentrated, with the chocolate and the spice right at the front. In a cappuccino the body carries through the milk. As filter coffee you get a longer, gentler version of the same cup.
