Details
Espresso Bar Extreme from Kimbo is a dark-roasted Italian blend of Arabica and Robusta beans from Brazil and Central America, sold as whole beans in a 1 kg bag. It is made for people who like their espresso short, intense and full-bodied.
Flavour profile
This is a strong coffee, scoring 12 out of 13 on our strength scale. The dark roast adds depth, and the mix of Arabica and Robusta gives it a sturdy body and a full layer of crema. Chocolate and caramel notes make it rich without taking the edge off its power.
How to brew it
Use a portafilter espresso machine or a moka pot to get the most from its intense aroma and full flavour. With that concentrated character it is particularly well suited to a ristretto, the shorter and more concentrated version of an espresso. In a cappuccino the blend keeps its footing, so you get a full milk drink with a clear coffee base. It can also be used for filter coffee.
