Mövenpick Crema Intensa Gusto Italiano box discount

Mövenpick Caffè Crema Gusto Italiano Intenso is a dark-roasted blend of Arabica and Robusta, roasted in Germany and sold as 1 kg of whole beans. The green coffee is sourced from Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Ethiopia and Uganda.

Flavour and strength

The dark roast is the first thing you taste: a bold, full cup with chocolaty and nutty notes and a steady body that does not thin out as the drink gets longer. Café du Jour rates it 10 out of 13, and Mövenpick gives it an intensity of 8/10 on its own scale — a strong coffee by either measure.

What to make with it

Caffè crema and lungo are what the name points at, and a dark, full blend is exactly what those longer drinks need if they are not to taste watery. It also pulls a short espresso well and stands up to milk in a cappuccino or latte.

Machines and pack

These are whole beans, so a bean-to-cup machine or a portafilter setup with its own grinder both suit it. The 1 kg bag has an aroma valve, which lets the roasting gases out of a freshly filled pack without letting air back in.
