Segafredo coffee beans, 1 kg
Selezione Organica is Segafredo's whole bean blend of arabica and robusta, roasted and produced in Italy. It is a medium roast: far enough along for caramel to come through, not so far that the beans take on the burnt edge of the darkest Italian roasts. A fruity note runs underneath it.
Strength
At 8 out of 13 on our scale this is a firm cup rather than a gentle one. That matters most with milk — it still tastes of coffee through a cappuccino or a flat white instead of disappearing — and it means a small espresso has something to say.
Three grinds, one bag
A kilo goes a long way when the same beans cover more than one machine. Grind fine for espresso, medium for filter coffee, and a step coarser for a moka pot or percolator.
