Central America has a grand selection of coffee, and this Honduras SGH Occidente Las Mercedes is another testament to that. This coffee is cultivated in the Copán region of western Honduras, close to the Mayan ruins of Copan, which was one of the key cities of the ancient Mayan Empire. At heights ranging from 1,200 to 1,700 metres, the beans grow at a leisurely pace, which makes them quite compact and exceptionally aromatic, with a slightly fruity character.
Our coffee roaster has slow-roasted the beans to a medium-dark level to reduce acidity. The result is a lovely coffee with medium body, intense aroma, mild flavour, hints of cherries, and a citrus-like finish.
