AeroPress coffee maker

The AeroPress is a hand-powered coffee maker that gives you a rich, smooth cup in under a minute. Ground coffee and hot water go into the chamber together, you stir, and then you press the plunger down by hand so the brew passes through a paper microfilter directly into the mug underneath. The coffee steeps briefly and is pushed through under gentle pressure, so you get a full-flavoured cup with none of the grit a cafetière leaves in the bottom.

Two drinks from one press

Press a small amount of water through a generous dose of coffee and you get a concentrated brew you can drink espresso-style or use as the base for a milk drink. Add hot water to that concentrate and you have a café Americano. The strength is entirely in your hands: change the dose, the grind or the steeping time and the cup changes with it.

Made for travelling

It is robust, lightweight and compact, so it packs for a holiday, the office or a weekend away without much thought, and it needs no electricity at all — only hot water. Clearing up takes seconds: push the puck of used grounds and the filter straight into the bin and rinse the parts.
