Lavazza ¡Tierra! Brasile - coffee beans - 6 x 1 kg
182.40
Value box with 6 × Lavazza ¡Tierra! Brasile (coffee beans, 1 kg).
Lavazza ¡Tierra! Brasile is an espresso blend of Brazilian Arabica and washed Conillon, the Robusta grown in Brazil, carefully selected for this coffee. The Conillon is what gives the cup its punch, so expect a strong, full-flavoured espresso. You get whole coffee beans in a 1 kg pack, which means you need a bean-to-cup machine or a grinder. A good match if you like your espresso short and intense.
Details
Lavazza ¡Tierra! Brasile pairs Brazilian Arabica with washed Conillon and is made with espresso in mind. It comes as whole coffee beans in a 1 kg pack.
Arabica with washed Conillon
Conillon (often spelt Conilon) is the name Brazilian growers use for their Robusta. The Conillon in this blend is washed and carefully selected. Washed means the fruit is removed from the bean before drying, a method that generally gives a cleaner-tasting coffee than natural processing. Robusta is known for adding body and caffeine to a blend, while Arabica brings the aromatic side.
In the cup
Lavazza describes the result as an espresso with a bold flavour profile and heightened intensity. On the Café du Jour strength scale we rate it 9 out of 13, in the upper part of the scale. If you normally drink a mild coffee, this will taste noticeably stronger; if you like a short, punchy espresso, it fits the bill.
Grinding
Because these are whole beans, grind them just before brewing, either in a bean-to-cup machine or with a grinder for a traditional espresso machine.
