Segafredo Intermezzo box discount

Intermezzo is a medium-roast coffee from Segafredo, the Italian brand of Segafredo Zanetti. It is a blend of Arabica and Robusta, with beans from Costa Rica and Ivory Coast, and comes as whole coffee beans in a 1 kg bag.

The name is Italian for a short break, and that is the moment this coffee is made for: a quick espresso or cappuccino in the middle of the day.

Flavour

Intermezzo combines spicy and sweet notes with a medium body. There are hints of vanilla, nuts and caramel, a touch of liquorice and orange, and a rich cocoa aftertaste. The intensity is 8 out of 13 on the Café du Jour scale and the crema is light.

Espresso and cappuccino

The blend is made for espresso and cappuccino. Drunk straight as an espresso, you get the full spicy-sweet profile and that cocoa finish. At 8 out of 13 there is enough strength for the coffee to come through when you add steamed milk for a cappuccino.

Because these are whole beans, you will need a bean-to-cup machine or a grinder alongside your espresso machine. Grind fine for espresso, only as much as you need, and keep the rest of the bag closed, away from heat and light.
