A glass V60 that brews straight onto ice. The dripper sits on a 700 ml server with a resin ice chamber between the two: fill it with ice cubes, brew with your usual V60 recipe, and the coffee is chilled as it lands instead of sitting in the fridge losing its aroma. Take the ice out and the same set works as a plain glass server for hot filter coffee. Made in Japan, dishwasher safe, measuring scoop included.
Iced coffee and a coffee server in one
The Hario V60 Iced Coffee Maker (VIG-02T) is a V60 dripper and a glass server built as a single set, with an ice chamber sitting between them. You brew hot, directly onto the ice, so the coffee is cold by the time it reaches the glass. No jug standing in the fridge, and no hour of waiting before you can drink it.
Using it
Fill the ice chamber with ice cubes, put a filter in the dripper and brew with whatever V60 recipe you already use. The brew passes through the ice on its way down and is chilled straight away. Leave the ice out and nothing about the hot method changes: it is an ordinary V60 over a 700 ml glass server, good for two to four cups of filter coffee, which is the more useful half of the year in Ireland.
Materials and care
Server and dripper are glass, the ring holder is silicone rubber, and the ice chamber is PCT resin, which copes with both boiling water and ice. The set is dishwasher safe and made in Japan, and a plastic measuring scoop comes with it.
