Marzipan Rose is a loose black tea with almonds, rose buds and rose petals blended through it. The almonds do the work: sweet and nutty like marzipan, with the rose sitting just behind, more scent than taste. Underneath is a plain black tea, which keeps it a proper cup rather than a dessert. 100 g of loose leaf; contains almonds.
Details

Almonds first, rose behind

Marzipan Rose is a black tea blended with almonds, rose buds and rose petals, plus flavouring and natural flavouring. The almonds and the flavouring together are what make the marzipan: sweet, nutty and clear enough to recognise from the first sip. The rose comes through mainly as scent, and the buds and petals are easy to spot in the dry leaf. Under all of it sits a plain black tea, and that is what keeps the cup from tasting like a sweet.

Three minutes sweet, five minutes dry

Count on about 2 g per cup, roughly a level teaspoon, and water just off the boil rather than straight from it. Three minutes gives you the softer, sweeter side of the blend; five gives you a stronger, drier cup as the tannins of the black tea come forward. There are no bags here, so you will need a tea strainer or a filter bag. At 2 g a cup, a 100 g pack makes around 50 cups.

On the caffeine

This is a black tea, so there is caffeine in it. Theine, the word you sometimes see on tea packaging, is the same substance under another name. For a late evening cup, a rooibos or a herbal infusion is the better choice; for the rest of the day this one does the job.

FAQ
Customer Questions
Does Marzipan Rose tea contain almonds?

Yes. The ingredient list of Marzipan Rose is: black tea, almonds, rose buds, flavouring, rose petals and natural flavouring. Together with the flavouring, the almonds create the sweet, nutty marzipan taste.

If you have a nut allergy, this tea is not suitable. If in doubt, always check the ingredient list on the packaging.

How do you make Marzipan Rose loose leaf tea?

Count on around 2 grams of loose leaf tea per cup, which is roughly a level teaspoon. Pour water that is just off the boil over the tea and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes.

Because this is loose leaf tea, you need a tea strainer or a filter bag. If you let the tea steep longer, the cup becomes stronger and drier in taste.

How many cups of tea do you get from 100 grams of Marzipan Rose?

A 100 gram bag gives you around 50 cups, based on about 2 grams of tea per cup.

If you use a large mug or prefer your tea a little stronger, that number will come out slightly lower.

Does Marzipan Rose tea contain caffeine?

Yes. Marzipan Rose is a black tea and black tea naturally contains caffeine. Theine and caffeine are the same substance, just under a different name.

If you are looking for something without caffeine for the evening, take a look at a rooibos or a herbal infusion.

How do you best store Marzipan Rose loose tea?

Store the tea dry, dark and well sealed, for example in its original packaging or in a tea tin. That way the almond and rose notes are preserved for the longest time.

Loose tea easily takes on odours, so do not put it next to strong smelling products. The fridge is not a good place to keep it.
