Brita - Water Filter Jug Aluna White + 1 Maxtra PRO Filter Cartridge

Filtered water straight from the tap

The Brita Aluna in Cool White filters water on its way through the jug. You fill it under the tap through the filling lid, the water runs down through a MAXTRA PRO cartridge and collects in the chamber below, ready to pour. The cartridge reduces limescale, chlorine, metals such as lead and copper, and traces of pesticides and medicines. You notice the difference most in whatever is mainly water: tea, coffee, and a kettle that scales up more slowly.

Smart Light and PerfectFit

One cartridge lasts around four weeks, or 150 litres. Rather than leaving you to keep track, the Smart Light on the lid shows green while the cartridge is good, orange as it nears the end and red when it needs replacing. The PerfectFit system seats each MAXTRA PRO cartridge squarely in the funnel, so unfiltered water cannot slip past the edge of the filter.

Day to day

Total capacity is 2.4 litres, 1.4 litres of that filtered. The jug is shaped to stand in a fridge door, the filling lid opens with one hand so you can top it up without putting anything down, and the pouring lid keeps dust out in between. It goes in the dishwasher apart from the lid and the Smart Light, which are washed by hand. One MAXTRA PRO cartridge is in the box, so it works from the first fill, and refilling it spares you the plastic of bottled water.
