Brita - Marella Blue XL Water Filter Jug + 1 Maxtra Filter Cartridge 3.5L

The Brita Marella XL in blue is the large jug in the Marella line: 3.5 litres in total, of which 2 litres is filtered water waiting in the lower half. Fill the top section, let it run through, and pour.

What the MAXTRA+ cartridge does

The jug comes with one MAXTRA+ cartridge. It reduces limescale, chlorine and other impurities as the water passes through, and you notice that twice: in the cup, where tea and coffee taste cleaner without a chlorine note behind them, and in the kettle and the coffee machine, where less limescale goes in and less scale builds up over the months. PerfectFit technology seals the cartridge into the funnel, so all the water runs through the filter instead of slipping past it.

Changing the cartridge

A cartridge lasts about four weeks. The BRITA Memo indicator in the lid counts those weeks down for you, so the change is not something you have to keep in your head or pencil onto a calendar.

Day to day

The fill flap in the lid opens with one hand, so the jug can be topped up at the tap without putting anything down or unclipping the lid. The handle is shaped for a full 3.5-litre jug, there is a pouring spout in the lid, and every part except the lid can go in the dishwasher. In blue it is a jug you can leave on the table rather than hide in the fridge door.
