Hario V60 Switch immersion dripper - glass with black base - size 02 (SSD-200-B)

The Hario V60 Switch immersion dripper (SSD-200-B) puts a V60 cone of heatproof borosilicate glass on a black silicone base with a valve, letting your coffee steep before it runs into the cup or jug. Leave the valve open and it works like an ordinary V60. You get about 200 ml per brew.

How the Hario V60 Switch works

The Hario V60 Switch uses a stainless steel ball in the base to block the outlet. With the switch pushed up, the hot water stays in the cone with the grounds. Press the switch until it sits flush with the base and the coffee drains through the paper filter. According to Hario, steeping gives an even extraction and a clean cup without sediment, and a favourite recipe is easy to repeat. A standard Hario V60 glass dripper in size 02 has no valve and lets the water run straight through.

Brewing with the Hario V60 Switch

To brew with the Hario V60 Switch you need a jug underneath, a V60 paper filter size 02 and Hario's own recipe:

1. Fit the filter and push the switch up.
2. Add 20 g of medium-ground coffee and about 240 ml of hot water.
3. Steep for about 2 minutes; stir for a stronger brew.
4. Press the switch gently and let it drain.
