The V60 takes its name from its shape: a cone with sides at a 60-degree angle. Three things about that cone decide how the coffee comes out. The single large opening at the bottom means water leaves about as fast as you pour it in, so your pouring speed rather than the equipment sets the contact time. The spiral ribs hold the paper off the wall, which lets the coffee bed swell as it degasses and gives the trapped air somewhere to go. And the cone shape sends the last of the water through the deepest part of the bed.

In practice that makes the V60 a brewer you steer yourself. Pour slowly, or grind finer, and the cup comes out heavier and sweeter. Pour briskly, or grind coarser, and it comes out lighter and cleaner. Nothing on the dripper changes.
