Coffee grows in Papua New Guinea in the mountainous highlands at more than 1,500 m altitude. About 75% of all coffee is grown by smallholders. Blue Mountain coffee originated in Jamaica. In the 1920s, seeds were taken to PNG, where conditions proved ideal. The process: farmers pick the coffee beans in 3-5 rounds. The coffee beans are then washed and sun-dried. The green beans are then delivered to IDorganics. We then roast the coffee beans into delicious coffee using the 'slow roast process' at the SUN roastery.
Taste: Coffee with an exotic, fruity aroma and a complex, subtle flavour. The strong body makes for a strong but subtle cup of coffee. This is the dark roast variant which makes it suitable for espressos, ristrettos and cappuccinos.
