A loose-leaf vanilla black tea: black tea leaves blended with natural vanilla flavour, so the sweetness sits alongside the tea rather than covering it. Two ingredients and nothing artificial. Café du Jour blends and packs it at our own tea packing house in Maasland in the Netherlands, and it comes as whole leaves in a 100 g pack, ready for a pot, an infuser or a strainer.
Vanilla black tea, loose leaf
Vanilla black tea is a flavoured black tea: whole leaves blended with natural vanilla flavour, sold here as loose leaf in a 100 g pack. The vanilla is there the moment you open it, but it stays in proportion — a warm, rounded sweetness running alongside the malt of the tea instead of sitting on top of it. The ingredient list is two lines long: black tea and natural flavour, with no artificial additives.

Brewing it
Loose leaf means you need a pot, an infuser or a strainer to hold the leaves. Use one heaped teaspoon per cup, pour water that has just come off the boil, and give it three to four minutes — shorter for a lighter cup, longer if you want it stronger. It takes a splash of milk without falling apart, and a little honey suits the vanilla. At a teaspoon a cup, a 100 g pack comes to roughly 40 to 50 cups.
