Gorilla Crema No.1 is 1 kg of whole Arabica beans from Brazil and Colombia, roasted medium in Germany with each origin roasted on its own before blending. Expect a floral, fruity cup with a honeyed sweetness rather than roast bitterness. Mild enough to drink as a straight espresso, full enough to carry milk in a cappuccino, and at home in both bean-to-cup and portafilter machines.

Gorilla Crema No.1
Gorilla Crema No.1 is a whole bean coffee made entirely from Arabica beans grown in Brazil and Colombia. It is a medium roast, and the cup shows it: floral and fruity at the front with a honeyed sweetness behind, rather than the dark, bitter edge of a heavier roast. On the Café du Jour scale it sits at 8 out of 13; Joerges rates it 6 out of 10 on its own scale.
The two origins are roasted separately and only then blended. That is slower than putting everything through the drum together, and the reason for it is that Brazilian and Colombian beans differ in size and density, so each one reaches its best at a slightly different point in the roast. Roasting by origin lets the roaster take each of them there.
How to drink it
This is an espresso-style bean. It suits a bean-to-cup machine and a portafilter equally, and it has the body to stand up to milk in a cappuccino while staying mild enough to drink as a straight espresso.
