Gorilla Café Crème is a full kilo of whole arabica beans, lightly roasted for the long, mild cup the style is named after. It is one of the gentlest coffees on the shelf: light in bitterness, clean and fragrant, with a fine crema rather than a heavy espresso body. Ground fine it suits a bean-to-cup machine, and it is an easy choice if espresso usually tastes too sharp to you.

Café crème coffee is the long, generous cup that bean-to-cup machines were built for: the beans are ground fine, but far more water passes through them than for an espresso, so you end up with a full mug under a thin layer of crema. Gorilla gives this kilo of whole arabica beans, grown in Latin America and Asia, a light roast for exactly that cup.
How it tastes
Mildness is the point. At 2 out of 13 on our strength scale it sits near the gentle end of what we sell: very little bitterness, no scorched edge from the roast, and an aroma that comes through clearly. Arabica does that: it is the sweeter and softer of the two bean species, and it keeps the cup smooth even when you pull a large one.
Who it suits
Pick it if espresso blends usually taste too sharp to you, if you drink coffee through the whole day rather than one short cup in the morning, or if several people share the machine and you want beans nobody complains about. The aroma wheel alongside shows where the flavour sits.
