Bottle Descaler 500 ml (universal / for 4x descaling)

Café du Jour descaler is a liquid descaler for coffee machines, espresso machines and kettles. Wherever water is heated, limescale settles on the heating element and in the pipework. It slows the flow, takes the heat out of the cup and leaves a chalky edge on the taste. Descaling on a regular schedule is what keeps a machine working properly and the coffee tasting as it should.

How to use it

Pour roughly 125 ml of descaler into the water tank and top it up to 500 ml with clean tap water. Leave the solution to stand for ten minutes, then run half of it through the machine. Wait another ten minutes and run the rest through. Empty and rinse the tank afterwards, then run at least three tanks of clean water through, so no residue and no aftertaste carry over into your next cup.

A kettle works the same way without the brewing: 125 ml topped up to 500 ml, ten minutes to soak, then a thorough rinse.

Which machines it suits

The formula is universal, so it goes into any coffee or espresso machine with a water tank, pod machines such as Senseo included. It is equally at home in machines from Philips, De'Longhi, Siemens, Jura, Krups and Melitta. Check your own manual first, since some manufacturers set out a descaling routine of their own.
