Kimbo Espresso Bar Aroma Gold is a 100% Arabica blend from Central and South America, medium roasted in Italy. It is softer than many other Kimbo coffees but keeps plenty of character, with an intense aroma, a refined taste and a delicate finish.
In the cup you get floral and fruity notes with caramel and chocolate, and a light hint of citrus. Sweetness is medium and the crema lasts. It rates 9 out of 13 on the Café du Jour scale, yet it is not the heaviest or most bitter style of Italian espresso: think aromatic, soft and round.
Espresso, milk drinks or black
As an espresso, Aroma Gold balances sweetness, freshness and aroma. In a cappuccino or latte the soft, caramel-like flavour comes through without making the drink heavy, and there is enough body to stand up to the milk. It also makes a good filter coffee if you like a rich but easy-going black cup, so one bag covers both if your household switches between black coffee and milk drinks.
