Kimbo Barista Espresso Napoli, also called Napoletano, is a strong espresso blend in the Neapolitan style. Arabica gives it refinement and a light sweetness; Robusta adds the strength and body. The result is a powerful cup that still stays balanced.
Flavour and roast
A dark roast gives this blend its deep character. Chocolate comes first, followed by spicy, roasted notes and a full finish. It scores 10 out of 13 on the Café du Jour strength scale, so it sits firmly at the strong end.
The mix is 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta: Arabica leads, with just enough Robusta to give the cup its weight.
How to drink it
This is a coffee for people who like a proper Italian espresso with some punch. It also works well in a cappuccino: the coffee flavour stays clearly present alongside the milk, so you get a creamy cup that doesn't taste weak.
These are whole beans, so you'll need a bean-to-cup machine or a grinder to go with your espresso machine. Grind fine, and grind just before you brew to keep the chocolate and roasted aromas at their fullest. If a straight espresso this strong is more than you're used to, start with a cappuccino: the milk rounds off the edges without hiding the coffee.
