Bosch / Siemens Descaling tablets for Coffee Machine 6 pieces

This is one of the most frequently asked questions to our customer service. Descaling tablets dissolve limescale in the water-carrying part of your machine: the water tank, the pipes and the boiler. Cleaning tablets do something else: they remove coffee oils and coffee residue from the brew group and the parts that come into contact with coffee. So you need both, they do not replace each other. For milk-carrying parts there is a third product: milk cleaner.

These tablets with article number TCZ6002 / TZ60002 are intended for bean to cup machines and coffee makers, and you can also use them in a kettle. They are suitable for the descaling programme of automatic espresso machines. Please note: this descaler is not suitable for appliances with a galvanised or enamelled surface, unless that surface has been given an acid-resistant treatment. If you are unsure about your model, the manual of your machine is decisive.

According to the product information, a pack of 6 tablets is enough for 3 to 6 descaling cycles. How many tablets you need per cycle depends on your machine's programme; the manual gives the correct dosage. How often descaling is needed depends on the hardness of your tap water and on how much coffee you make. Most bean to cup machines give a signal themselves when it is time.

Dissolve the tablet or tablets in the water tank according to the dosage in your machine's manual and then start the descaling programme. We advise rinsing the tank and the pipes thoroughly with clean water afterwards, so that no taste residues are left behind. If you use the tablets in a kettle, let the solution work in and then rinse a few times.

Limescale builds up in the boiler and the pipes of your appliance. As a result the water becomes less hot, the machine runs through more slowly and the taste of your coffee changes. Descaling regularly keeps performance up to standard and can extend the life of your appliance. Cleaning with a cleaning tablet remains necessary as well, because that tackles the coffee oils and not limescale.
