Heritage Blend or Heritage Espresso?

As the names say, the two differ in what they are made for. Heritage Blend is meant for a regular cup of black coffee, for example from a bean-to-cup machine. Heritage Espresso is for espresso and for milk drinks such as cappuccino, in a bean-to-cup machine or an espresso machine with a grinder.

  • A regular cup of black coffee: Heritage Blend
  • Espresso, cappuccino and latte: Heritage Espresso
  • Both as whole beans in 1 kg packs

Arabica and Robusta

The Joerges range includes both 100% Arabica coffees and blends of Arabica and Robusta. Arabica gives a softer, more aromatic cup; Robusta adds body, crema and caffeine. The composition of each Heritage coffee is listed on its product page.

Gorilla and other German coffees

The Gorilla coffees from the same roaster are on our Gorilla coffee beans page. For another German roaster, see our German coffee beans from Dallmayr.

Does Joerges also offer decaffeinated coffee?

Yes, Gorilla offers decaffeinated coffee beans in 1 kg packs. This option is suitable for people who want to avoid caffeine but still enjoy the flavour of Gorilla coffee.

Is Gorilla coffee 100% Arabica?

What is the difference between Gorilla Crema No.1 and Gorilla Café Crema?

Gorilla Crema No.1 has a pronounced flavour profile with floral and fruity notes and a honeyed finish. Gorilla Café Crema is more approachable and rounded, with less pronounced aromas. Crema No.1 is aimed at those who want to explore subtle flavours; Café Crema is ideal as an everyday coffee.

Which Joerges Gorilla coffee suits my coffee machine?

For fully automatic machines, Gorilla Crema No.1 and Gorilla Café Crema work well. For espresso machines with a portafilter choose Gorilla Bar Crema, Gorilla Espresso Delicato or Gorilla Superbar Crema. For a French press or filter coffee maker, the milder varieties are most suitable.
