Earl Grey from Tea of Life

Earl Grey is black tea scented with bergamot, the small citrus fruit that gives the blend its fresh, faintly floral lift. Tea of Life keeps the bergamot in balance here rather than letting it take over the tea underneath.

Light and aromatic. The bergamot sits somewhere between fresh and floral, with the black tea holding it up from below. It takes a dash of milk happily and is just as good black with a slice of lemon.

Brewing

Water straight off the boil, one bag per cup, three to four minutes. Take the bag out on time: left too long, the tannins come forward and push the bergamot into the background.
