What is the best way to store freshly roasted coffee at home?
You should store fresh coffee well away from moisture, heat and odours, in an airtight container at room temperature. If you wish to keep the beans for longer than a few weeks to months, freezing is also possible, provided the packaging is completely airtight to prevent moisture from getting in. We advise against using the fridge, as coffee absorbs odours, which can negatively affect the flavour.
For ground coffee, it is more difficult to keep it fresh; we advise not to store ground coffee for more than 14 days after receipt, in an airtight container at room temperature.
Although coffee beans are technically longer lasting (1 to 2 years), we recommend consuming fresh coffee within 2 to 3 months for the best flavour experience.
