Mint & Choco is a flavoured green tea from the Café du Jour loose range, and there are only three things in it: green tea leaf, cocoa shells and peppermint. The peppermint is what you smell first, sharp and cooling. The cocoa shells sit behind it with a dry, dark-chocolate aroma rather than any sweetness, and the green tea keeps the body light and faintly grassy. It lands somewhere close to an after-dinner mint, without the sugar.
Brewing it
Use it as a loose-leaf tea in a pot or an infuser. Green tea does not take kindly to water straight off the boil, so let the kettle stand a minute before you pour, then give it two to three minutes. Keep the steep short and the mint stays in front; leave it another minute and the cocoa note fills out. Because the leaf is loose, how much goes in the pot is up to you.
