Two of the names tell you how the coffee is meant to be drunk. Caffè crema is the longer, gentler cup that a bean-to-cup machine pours by default; an espresso blend is built for the short, concentrated shot in a small cup. For Gusto Italiano and El Autentico we have left the tasting notes out rather than guess at them — a kilo of each is enough to form your own view, which is what the box is for.

Working through four kilos

Four kilos is a lot of coffee to have open at once. Finish one bag before you open the next, keep the grind and the dose steady while you do, and note down what you thought of it; otherwise the blends blur into one another by the third bag. Try each one the way you normally drink coffee, black or with milk, since that is the cup you will be reordering for.

Yes, these Mövenpick coffee beans are suitable for both fully automatic machines and piston machines. Thanks to the variety in flavour and roast, you will always find a bean in this tasting pack that suits your preferred brewing method, from espresso to cappuccino.

Are the packages in the sample pack resealable and how should I best store the beans?

The coffee beans are supplied in standard kilo packs from Mövenpick. These are fitted with a valve, but are not always fully resealable. We recommend folding an opened pack tightly or transferring the beans to an airtight coffee storage container to preserve freshness and flavour for as long as possible.

Which Mövenpick coffees are included in this tasting pack and what are their main flavour characteristics?

In this sample pack you will find four types of Mövenpick coffee beans: Café Crema (mild 100% arabica with nutty notes), Espresso (powerful, spicy, with a full crema layer, perfect for espressos and milk-based drinks), Gusto Italiano (intense and strong, with beans from Africa and Central and South America), and El Autentico (balanced, full-bodied 100% arabica from the highlands). Why are there kilo packages in the sample pack instead of smaller packages?

We supply the Mövenpick tasting pack as packaged by Mövenpick. Therefore, the coffee varieties are available in kilo packs, which is more economical. You will receive a whole kilo of each variety, giving you plenty of time to taste each coffee properly, on your own or with others.

Are the beans in the sample box suitable for people who do not like very strong coffee?

This tasting pack contains various strengths, from the mild Café Crema to the powerful Espresso. If you do not like very strong coffee, we recommend starting with the Café Crema or El Autentico; both are full of flavour, but less intense than, for example, the Espresso or Gusto Italiano.
