Tevo® Maxi are Cafetto's cleaning tablets for espresso machines: a jar of 150 tablets of 2.5 g, 20 mm across and 5 mm thick. They replace loose cleaning powder and take out the coffee oils, grounds and staining that build up inside a machine and go stale there. The formula is non-corrosive, free from phosphates and GMO, and rapidly biodegradable to international standards.

Details

What Tevo Maxi tablets do

Coffee leaves oil behind. It coats the group head, the brew unit and the screens, and once it turns rancid it taints everything that passes through afterwards — the espresso tastes flat and slightly bitter however fresh the beans are. Cafetto's Tevo® Maxi tablets are made to strip that residue out, along with the grounds and staining that collect in the same places. With the machine clean, the aroma and the taste of the coffee come back.

Tablets instead of powder

One tablet is one dose, so there is no scoop and no guessing at a spoonful of cleaning powder. They are a straight replacement for the traditional powders, in a form that does not spill or clump in the cupboard. Check your machine's manual for how many tablets its cleaning cycle takes and how often to run it.

The formula

Tevo is free from phosphates and from genetically modified organisms. It is non-corrosive, so it is not working against the metal and the seals inside your machine, and it is rapidly biodegradable to international standards.

FAQ

Customer Questions

How often should I clean my espresso machine with these tablets?

We recommend cleaning your espresso machine weekly or after approximately 100 coffee cycles, depending on usage, with a Cafetto Tevo® Maxi tablet. Regular cleaning stops coffee fats and oils from building up, which helps keep your machine performing well and your coffee tasting as it should.

Can I also use these tablets if my machine normally requires cleaning powder?

Yes, the Cafetto Tevo® Maxi tablets have been specially developed to replace traditional cleaning powders. They are easier to dose and effectively remove coffee fats and oils from your espresso machine.

Do these cleaning tablets affect the taste of my espresso?

Yes. Using Cafetto Tevo® Maxi cleaning tablets regularly removes coffee oils and residue from your machine. This gets rid of unpleasant flavours and stains in the brew group, which gives your espresso a better and more consistent flavour and aroma.

For which types of coffee machines are the Cafetto Tevo® Maxi cleaning tablets suitable?

These cleaning tablets are suitable for almost all espresso machines, both professional and domestic. Thanks to their size (20 mm diameter and 5 mm height), they are compatible with most brew groups. Always check the tablet size for your specific machine.

Are the Cafetto Tevo® Maxi tablets environmentally friendly?

Yes, these cleaning tablets are phosphate-free, contain no genetically modified organisms (GMO), and are rapidly biodegradable.
