No, you cannot set a temperature on this Hario Buono kettle. It brings the water to the boil, switches off by itself afterwards and has boil dry protection.

For filter coffee that is not a problem. Switch the kettle on and let the water rest for half a minute to a minute after boiling before you start pouring. The temperature then drops by itself into the range where pour over tastes best. If you really want to work to the exact degree, you need a kettle with variable temperature control.

Count on a fresh MAXTRA+ cartridge every four weeks. The BRITA Memo on the lid keeps track of that interval for you and shows when the time is up, so you never have to make a note of it yourself.

Filter far more water than average and the cartridge will naturally be due sooner. Water running through more slowly or tasting different is another clear hint. Clean the lid with warm water and a little mild washing-up liquid, then rinse it well. Do that now and then together with the funnel, so no limescale ring builds up. Avoid scouring pads and aggressive cleaners, because they leave scratches on the plastic. Let every part dry properly before you fit a new cartridge.
