What is the best way to brew this Crunchy Apple Pie tea?
We recommend 2 grams of tea per cup with water at 90–95°C and a brewing time of 3–4 minutes. Taste now and then until the tea reaches the strength you like.
Can I reuse or reseal the packaging after opening?
Yes, the loose tea is packaged in a resealable and reusable tin. This keeps your tea fresh for longer and the tin is handy for storing other items after use.
Does this dark roast result in a bitter or burnt taste in the coffee?
We roast our Dark Roast Brazil beans so that they are powerful in flavour without a burnt or unpleasantly bitter aftertaste. The taste is full and intense with clearly recognisable notes of nuts and dark chocolate. Unlike many other dark roasts, these beans are therefore not bitter or burnt.
How do I best prepare this loose Pu-Erh tea?
We recommend using 2 grams of tea per cup, pouring water at approximately 95°C over it and allowing the tea to steep for 2–4 minutes. This brings out the flavour notes of both the Pu-Erh and the forest fruits.
Can I use these beans in a fully automatic machine or coffee grinder, despite the dark roast?
You can use these beans in all coffee grinders and fully automatic machines. However, we recommend that you clean your fully automatic machine or (home) grinder regularly, as oily, dark-roasted beans can leave residues. This prevents the build-up of oils and keeps your machine in good condition.
Are the beans dry or oily and does that affect their use in my fully automatic machine?
Our beans are generally dry, but they can sometimes be a little oilier. This can affect how the beans feed through in some fully automatic machines. We recommend cleaning the bean hopper regularly, especially when using oilier beans, to prevent blockages.
Which recipe or ratio should I use to make an Italian espresso with this?
For an authentic Italian espresso, we recommend using approximately 7–10 grams of ground coffee for a shot of 20–30 ml. Some customers prefer a 1:2 ratio (for example, 18 grams of coffee to 36 ml of espresso), but for a classic Italian result you can use 10 grams of coffee and 20 ml of water. Feel free to experiment with your machine to find what suits you.
Do I need to tamp multiple times per shot, or is once enough with the Macap CPS?
It is sufficient to tamp the coffee only once with the Macap CPS. Its Constant Pressure System applies the correct pressure straight away, for a consistent extraction.
What is the Islands of the Netherlands black tea flavoured with?
This tea is inspired by the Wadden Sea islands and flavoured with real sea buckthorn berries. This gives it a smooth, fresh and sweet taste.
Can I drink this black tea both on its own and with milk?
Our Islands of the Netherlands black tea is at its best enjoyed on its own, so you can fully appreciate the fresh and sweet notes of the sea buckthorn berries. You may add a slice of lemon if you wish, but we recommend not adding milk to this particular blend.
How do I best prepare the Fresh Ginger black tea?
We recommend using 2 to 2.5 grams of loose tea per cup. Pour hot water over it (around 95°C) and let the tea steep for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your taste preference. For an extra fresh ginger experience, you can add a few slices of fresh ginger.
How do I maintain the Macap CPS for optimal use?
We recommend cleaning the Macap CPS daily, especially the piston and the tamper surface. Use a dry cloth to remove coffee residues and thus maintain performance and coffee quality. Do not use a wet cloth, as this can damage the components.
