Why does the price at checkout differ from the product page?

On the product page the price is shown including VAT and, where applicable, including excise duty. At checkout the total amount may differ because of:

• VAT rate: the rate depends on the country of delivery and the type of product. Coffee and tea fall under a reduced rate, machines and accessories under the standard rate.
• Shipping costs: below the threshold for free shipping, shipping costs are added in the shopping basket.
• Tiered pricing: for larger quantities a volume discount may apply.

Excise duty on coffee is levied in Belgium and Germany, but not in the Netherlands. It is already included in the price shown. In the order totals you can see the excise duty amount separately, just like the VAT.
