Good Night - Herbal Tea 100 g - Café du Jour loose tea

Leaves and blossom, no tea leaf
Good Night is a herbal blend rather than a tea. Spearmint, chamomile and lemon balm form the soft, rounded base; blackberry leaf and strawberry leaf fill out the middle; rose petals and orange blossom add the floral note you catch before you taste anything. Nothing from the tea plant goes into it, which is the plain reason it suits the end of the day rather than the start.
You cannot really over-steep it
Herbs and blossom do not carry the tannin black tea does, so a long steep makes this fuller instead of sharper. Allow about 2 g per cup, pour boiling water over it and give it five to eight minutes, or longer if you are not in a hurry. Put a saucer or a lid over the cup while it steeps: the blossom aroma is the first thing to go up with the steam, and it is the part you bought this blend for.
Give it room to open
Whole leaves and petals swell a good deal in water, and a cramped ball infuser holds them shut so half the flavour never arrives. Use a wide strainer, a paper filter bag or a teapot with a generous filter basket. At roughly 2 g a cup, a 100 g pack works out at somewhere near fifty cups.
