Espresso Bar is Lucaffé's everyday bar blend, roasted in Italy: whole beans, medium roasted, in a kilo bag. The mix is 60% Arabica to 40% Robusta. The Arabica carries the sweetness and the aroma, the Robusta puts in the body and the thick crema that still holds a pattern a minute after pouring.

How it tastes

Chocolate is the first thing most people name, with a hazelnut note underneath. The medium roast keeps it there: far enough along for a proper espresso finish, not so far that the roast takes over and turns bitter. At 9 out of 13 on our strength scale this is a firm cup, and it stays recognisably coffee through a cappuccino or a flat white rather than disappearing into the milk.
