The Cranberries - Black tea 100 g - Café du Jour loose tea

A loose-leaf black tea blended with dried cranberries. The black tea gives it body and a gentle bitterness; the cranberries bring the tartness, the aroma and the deep red colour in the cup. Fruity and mildly tart, with a fresh finish and a floral note behind it. Nothing artificial goes in — the flavour comes from real dried fruit and natural flavourings. 100 g.
What it is
A black tea blended with dried cranberries, sold loose rather than in bags. The base does what you expect of black tea — body, a little bitterness, depth of colour — and the cranberries sit on top of it: tart, fresh and faintly floral, with a deep red cup to match. Nothing artificial goes in. The ingredients are black tea, dried cranberries and natural flavourings.
Brewing it
- Boil the water and let it drop back to about 90 degrees.
- Use roughly 2 g of tea per 200 ml cup, in a filter, an infuser or a strainer.
- Steep for two to four minutes, then lift the leaves out.
Loose leaf wants the room: the whole leaves and the pieces of fruit only open up properly when they are not packed flat into a bag. A slice of lemon suits it. Brewed strong and left to cool, it is just as good over ice. Being a black tea it carries caffeine — less than a cup of coffee, but enough to notice late at night.
