What Grindz does

Coffee beans are oily, and a grinder keeps what they leave behind. A film of oil builds up on the burrs, old grounds pack into the corners of the chamber, and the residue bakes on where the burrs run warm. Urnex Grindz is made to clear that out without stripping the grinder down. The granules go into the hopper in place of beans and pass through the burrs the same way coffee does, carrying the old residue with them. Grind a small amount of coffee afterwards and discard it, and the chamber is clear.

What goes into the grinder matters, because it touches the same surfaces your coffee touches a minute later. Grindz is made from natural, plant-based ingredients, all of them food-safe, with no phosphates and no gluten, and the granules are biodegradable once they are out of the machine. There is no rinsing step and no water involved, which is the point: the inside of a burr grinder is one of the few parts of a coffee set-up you cannot simply wash.

Which grinders it suits

Grindz is for standalone grinders — the kind you fill with beans and run on their own, at home or behind a counter. It is not suitable for the integrated grinders in fully automatic bean-to-cup machines, which are built differently and have their own cleaning products.
