What sets it apart from a standard Assam is the strength: it is milder than most, while keeping the full, robust body that black tea drinkers come to Assam for. If you like a strong cup but find some Assams too bold, this one sits in the middle.

Loose leaf, your strength

Loose rather than bagged means you decide how much leaf goes into the pot, so the same tea gives you a light afternoon cup or a brisk breakfast one. A 100 g pack runs to somewhere between 30 and 50 cups, depending on which way you lean.

Brewing

Boil fresh water and let it stand for about half a minute.
Measure 2 to 3 g of leaf into a strainer, an infuser or a pot with a built-in filter.
Pour over and steep for 3 to 4 minutes — longer for a stronger cup, shorter for a lighter one.
Lift the leaves out. Drink it as it is, or with a splash of milk.
