Keeps limescale out of the machine behind it

The BRITA PURITY C50 Quell ST cartridge lowers the carbonate hardness of mains water, and that is what stops limescale forming inside the appliance it feeds. It was developed for the hospitality trade, where an espresso machine, a bean-to-cup machine or a steam oven runs all day on whatever comes out of the tap. The same filtration also takes out heavy metals such as lead and copper, turbidity, organic impurities and substances that interfere with smell and taste, chlorine among them, so the water reaching the brew is cleaner as well as softer.

It needs a filter head

The cartridge is fitted into the water line ahead of the appliance and always works together with a matching Purity C filter head, such as the Brita Purity C filter head 1013637. A head is not included. If one is already on your wall, this cartridge is all you need; if not, order the two together. Check your machine's manual for the filter system the manufacturer specifies.

Installation

It can be mounted horizontally or vertically, whichever suits the space under or beside the machine, and because the water inlet and outlet sit on one side of the filter head the whole installation takes up less room. Swapping a spent cartridge is done with the quick-change system, and IntelliBypass keeps the bypass water steady whatever the flow rate.

Is a filter head included with the BRITA PURITY C50 Quell ST filter cartridge?

No. This item is the filter cartridge itself and is supplied without a filter head. You also need a matching filter head, such as the Brita Purity C filter head 1013637 for Purity Quell ST.

This mix up happens regularly: we have had returns from customers who expected a filter head but received the cartridge. If you already use a Purity C filter head, you only need this cartridge.
