A customer with a bean to cup machine asked us which coffee he could use without his grinder getting dirty from oily beans. Our answer was that in this price range many beans are somewhat darker and therefore oilier, but that the Lazarro crema is not bad in that respect. These beans are medium roasted and mild in intensity.

This oil is made from 100 percent Nocellara del Belice olives from Mazara del Vallo in Sicily. The olives are harvested by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October and cold pressed within a few hours of the harvest. That keeps the oil rich in polyphenols and preserves its fresh, slightly spicy character.

A customer asked us earlier whether the Kimbo Espresso Bar Top Flavour 100% Arabica from this pack would be too oily, because the beans look shiny. Our answer at the time: these beans are not extremely oily like some dark roasts, so with normal maintenance of your machine you can use them without any problem.

No, that is almost never mould. What you see is crystallised caffeine and coffee oil moving to the outside of the bean. It looks like a white bloom, but it is harmless.

We see this more often with beans that have a higher robusta content, and within this selection in particular with the Segafredo Intermezzo and the De Roccis Qualità Oro Intenso. The taste of the coffee does not change because of it. If you are still unsure, feel free to send us a photo.
