We advise replacing the MAXTRA+ filter cartridge about every four weeks. The BRITA Memo in the lid keeps track of that period for you and shows when it is time. If you use the jug intensively or have very hard water, changing it a little sooner can be sensible.
Because this blend contains both green and black tea, we advise water of about 80 to 85 degrees and a steeping time of 2 to 3 minutes, with roughly 2 grams of tea per cup. Boiling water or a long steeping time mainly makes the green part bitter, while the jasmine and the floral notes flatten out. If you find the tea too light, use a slightly higher dose rather than steeping it for longer.
Yes. The base of this blend is green tea and green tea naturally contains caffeine. Theine and caffeine are the same substance, just under a different name.
If you are looking for a cup without caffeine, choose a rooibos or a herbal infusion.
Julius Meinl is an Austrian coffee brand and Präsident is produced in Austria. This coffee has been on the menu in Austrian coffee houses for decades.
The Viennese way of roasting sits between light and dark. Präsident is medium roasted, which gives you a rich chocolatey aroma with a full body and little sharpness.
This blend contains only green tea and jasmine blossom, both from organic cultivation. The blossom passes its scent on to the tea leaves, which gives the tea its characteristic floral aroma. There are no other ingredients.
This is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. The Arabica provides the soft, slightly fruity side of the taste, while the Robusta gives body and a stable layer of crema.
The manufacturer does not state a ratio between the two types, so we cannot name it. The coffee simply contains caffeine and is therefore not decaffeinated.
The cocoa beans come from Nicaragua and are bought through Direct Trade at Cacao Bisiesto, which ferments and dries the beans itself. So it is a single origin bar: all the cocoa comes from one origin. The bar is then made bean to bar in the Mesjokke factory in Utrecht.
Use 1 tea bag per cup and water at 100 degrees. Let the bag steep for 4 to 5 minutes, so the spices can really release their flavour. A shorter steeping time gives a lighter, more tea-like cup, while steeping longer makes it spicier.
A 100 gram bag gives you about 50 cups, based on around 2 grams of tea per cup.
If you use a large mug or prefer to brew your tea a little stronger, that number will come out slightly lower.
You receive 1 kilo of whole beans, so you can simply pour the Heritage Melange into the bean hopper of your bean to cup machine.
The medium roast keeps the bean from being noticeably oily, which is good for the grinder. If you use a different appliance, grind the beans yourself: espresso grind for an espresso machine, filter grind for a pour-over filter and percolator grind for the ground coffee chute of a Jura.
This filter cartridge was developed for the hospitality trade and is used for espresso machines and bean to cup coffee machines, as well as for catering equipment such as steam and baking ovens and for vending machines.
The cartridge is fitted into the water line ahead of the appliance, always in combination with a matching Purity C filter head. Check the manual of your machine to see which filter system the manufacturer specifies.
One pack contains 100 coffee filters in size 4. Store the pack dry and sealed, so the paper does not absorb moisture or foreign odours.
That way the filters stay flat and are easy to separate from each other.
The blend contains seventy percent Arabica and is made up of five different origins. The rest of the blend consists of Robusta, which provides extra body and a firm crema.
On our intensity scale Cremador sits at 9, which means very strong. The flavour profile is full, aromatic and creamy with chocolatey notes.
You receive 1 kilo of whole beans, so you can pour them into the bean hopper of your bean to cup machine.
Do bear in mind that this is a powerful, dark roast. Dark roasted beans have a slightly oilier surface, which the grinder of some bean to cup machines is sensitive to. In that case clean the grinder regularly or choose a lighter roasted blend such as the Joerges Heritage Melange or Schümli.
The total capacity of the jug is 2.4 litres. The water runs from the funnel through the filter into the lower part of the jug, so the amount of filtered water is a little less than the total capacity.
The jug is made of borosilicate glass, 60 percent of which comes from recycled production glass. That glass is heat resistant, scratch resistant and surprisingly light in weight.
