Where do the beans in the Mövenpick Crema Intensa Gusto Italiano come from?
For this blend, Arabica beans from Central and South America and selected Robusta beans from Africa are used. This combination provides a rich, intense flavour with a characteristic Italian touch.
Are these Peru coffee beans suitable for both espresso and cappuccino?
Yes, these beans are very versatile and are often brewed by customers as espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato and regular filter coffee. Many reviews indicate that the beans are particularly well suited for use with milk, thanks to their mild yet pronounced flavour and the beautiful creamy crema layer.
Are the Cerrado coffee beans acidic or bitter in flavour?
No, these coffee beans are carefully medium roasted, so they hardly taste bitter or sour. Many customers particularly appreciate the mild flavour without sharp acidity or a bitter aftertaste. This way, you can enjoy a pleasant and accessible cup of coffee day in, day out.
Do these coffee beans resemble the Julius Meinl coffee from Italy or Hungary?
Yes, several customers have indicated that they drank the Julius Meinl Trend Collection Espresso Classico in Italy or Hungary and experience exactly the same taste at home. This product therefore provides the same coffee experience as when on holiday.
What flavour can you expect from the Julius Meinl Trend Collection Espresso Classico coffee beans?
This coffee has an intense flavour with notes of toasted bread and a lingering aftertaste in which you can recognise dark chocolate and cocoa. Several customers describe the coffee as powerful, full of flavour and not too heavy. It brings the feeling and taste of an Italian or Central European espresso to your home.
The coffee sometimes tastes a bit sour, how can I adjust this?
A light acidity is characteristic of Yirgacheffe coffee, but you can influence the flavour balance by adjusting the grind and preparation. A slightly coarser grind or a longer extraction time often reduces the acidic character. We also recommend allowing the beans to rest for a few days after the roast date for optimal flavour development.
Which coffee varieties are included in this tasting pack and how do they differ in flavour?
This package contains 7 types of 100% arabica single origin coffee: Ethiopia (spicy, ideal for espresso, lightly acidic), Brazil (subtle, harmonious, notes of chocolate and nuts), Peru (complex, smooth, compact), Colombia (chocolatey, sweet finish, medium acidity), Nicaragua (mild, nutty and fruity notes), Tanzania (sharp, wine-like acidity) and Guatemala (fruity, fresh acidity, low bitterness). Each region delivers a unique taste experience.
Why are the beans sometimes very fresh upon receipt and when do they taste best?
We roast our coffee every week in small batches and deliver it as fresh as possible. This means you may sometimes receive beans that were roasted only a few days ago. Freshly roasted beans can taste a little unstable during the first few days after the roast date. We recommend letting the beans rest for 5 to 10 days after receiving them before use; this allows the flavour profile to develop optimally.
How would you best describe the flavour of these Peru 100% arabica coffee beans?
This coffee has a smooth yet full flavour with subtle notes of chocolate, vanilla and a light spiciness. The beans produce a beautiful crema and are often experienced as mild to strong, without a bitter or sour aftertaste. Customers particularly appreciate the refined, rounded and balanced character. For those who enjoy an intense espresso or a gentle cappuccino, these beans are highly suitable.
What are the main flavour characteristics of these Yirgacheffe coffee beans?
Our Yirgacheffe coffee beans are known for their fresh and floral character, with a fruity aroma and a light to medium body. Many customers taste notes of sweetness, a light acidity, and sometimes even hints of nuts, dried fruits, or a touch of spiciness. The coffee is powerful and intense without being bitter, and is often experienced as smooth and refined.
Does the flavour of the coffee change after opening?
Because these beans are so fresh, some customers notice a slight change in flavour a few days after opening the packaging. However, thanks to the resealable packaging with a valve, the beans stay fresh for longer. For the best results, we recommend storing the beans in an airtight container and using them within a few weeks of opening.
Is the Julius Meinl Trend Collection Espresso Classico suitable for various coffee preparations, such as espresso and cappuccino?
These coffee beans are specially blended for a powerful espresso, but their full flavour and strong aroma also make them highly suitable for other preparations such as cappuccino or latte macchiato.
Are these coffee beans suitable for all types of coffee machines?
Our single origin beans are suitable for almost all (fully automatic) espresso machines, piston machines, and for filter coffee. Each packaging label contains specific information about the best brewing method for each type, so you can easily choose the right preparation.
Does the descaling powder leave an aftertaste in the coffee?
With correct use and thorough rinsing after descaling, no taste will remain in your coffee. It is important to rinse the reservoir well after use and to run the machine through with clean water at least three times as indicated in the instructions. The powder itself does not leave any harmful residues, but insufficient rinsing can result in a sour taste.
Does the quality of the beans remain good if I buy a large package?
Because we supply freshly roasted coffee, it is important to store the beans in an airtight container after opening. Our resealable packaging with a valve ensures that air and gases can escape without allowing new air in. However, we recommend using larger packs within a few weeks, as some customers notice that the flavour becomes slightly less fresh over time, especially if the bag is opened regularly.
