Hario V60 dripper - plastic white - size 02

This is the Hario V60 in white plastic, size 02. The V60 is a pour-over dripper: you sit it on a mug, a carafe or a V60 server, drop in a paper filter, and pour hot water over the grounds by hand.

Size 02: one to four cups

The two V60 sizes differ in how much you brew at once. The 01 is built for one or two cups; this 02 takes you up to four, which is the size most people want as soon as there is ever a second person at the table. It measures 10.2 cm high and 13.7 cm wide, with a diameter of 11.6 cm — wide enough to bridge a carafe, small enough to leave out beside the kettle.

Plastic, and what that means

The plastic V60 gives you the same quality in the cup as the glass and ceramic versions: the shape of the cone does the work, not the material it is moulded in. What plastic adds is practicality. It is light, it is hard-wearing and it will not shatter, so it is the one to take camping, to the office or on holiday. Which material you choose is mostly personal preference and a question of how you brew.

Iced coffee, brewed straight over ice

Fill the vessel underneath with ice and brew the coffee directly onto it — flash brewing — and you have iced coffee in the three minutes the brew takes. Cold brew proper is made another way, steeped cold for hours, but for iced coffee you need nothing beyond this dripper and a glass of ice.

Filters

Use Hario V60 size 02 filters. The size 01 papers are cut for the smaller cone and will not seat in this one; the two sizes are not interchangeable. We stock the 02 papers in brown, 100 to a box.
