Mild hemp leaf with golden turmeric, spicy ginger and fresh lemongrass, blended by Dutch Harvest. It makes a warm, spicy cup with the earthy depth turmeric is known for, and it doubles as the base for hemp golden milk: brew it strong, strain it and stir it into warm milk. The hemp is organically grown in Oude Pekela, Groningen, and contains CBD and no THC. Loose tea, 50 g, around 40 cups.

Details

Hemp & Turmeric puts mild hemp leaf together with golden turmeric, spicy ginger and fresh lemongrass. The turmeric gives the cup its earthy depth and its colour, the ginger brings the heat, and the lemongrass keeps the whole thing from sitting heavy. It is a warm, spicy tea rather than a delicate one.

Brewing

One teaspoon per cup, or two tablespoons per litre
Pour over boiling water
Steep for 5 to 7 minutes

This is loose tea, so you will want a strainer, a paper tea filter or a teapot with a filter built in.

Hemp golden milk

The turmeric makes this the blend to build golden milk on. Brew it stronger than usual, say a generous teaspoon per cup, and give it the full 5 to 7 minutes. Strain it, mix it with warm milk or a plant-based alternative, and sweeten with honey or sugar to taste.

About the hemp

Dutch Harvest grows its hemp organically in Oude Pekela, in the Dutch province of Groningen. This is fibre hemp, the variety grown for stalk and leaf, and it contains no THC, so the tea has no psychoactive effect and cannot get you stoned or high. It does contain CBD, which works differently from THC and is not psychoactive either. Dutch Harvest publishes no CBD figure per bag or per cup, so we cannot quote you one.
