Coffee you can repeat comes down to two numbers: how much went in, and how long it took. This JoeFrex scale gives you both without a second gadget on the counter. It reads in 0.1 g steps, which is the resolution you need to dial in an espresso dose properly, and it weighs up to 5000 g, so there is room for a carafe, a jug or a whole bag of beans. The large LCD stays readable from standing height while you are pouring.

Using the timer

Set your cup, server or portafilter on the platform and tare the scale to zero, then press the timer button as you start. Stop it yourself when the brew is done, or simply lift the vessel off the platform and the timer stops on its own — handy when both hands are busy with a kettle.
