How to make matcha with the kit

Spoon some matcha powder into the bowl with the bamboo spoon and add water. Whisk with the bamboo whisk until the powder is fully mixed in. When you're done, stand the whisk on its holder and close the tin so the rest of the powder is stored away until next time.

Is the matcha tin in the Matcha starter set Aurora sealed?

We fill the tins with matcha ourselves, so they are not sealed. There is a sticker on top of the tin and it can sometimes come loose during transport.

We never reuse a tin that has been returned, so the matcha in your starter set has never been in another customer's hands. If anything is still not right, please let us know.

What is in the Matcha starter set Aurora?

This starter set contains a ceramic Aurora matcha bowl measuring Ø13 cm by H7 cm, a bamboo matcha whisk, a bamboo matcha scoop, a whisk holder and 50 grams of classic matcha in a resealable tin.

Everything comes together in a luxury cardboard gift box, so you can get started straight away or give the set as a present. It is a fixed composition that cannot be changed.

How many cups of matcha do the 50 grams from the Aurora starter set make?

For a cup of matcha, allow around 1.5 to 2 grams of powder, which is about a teaspoon. So with the 50 grams from this starter set you can make around 25 to 33 cups.

Close the tin properly after use and store it in a dry, dark and cool place, so that the colour and the flavour of the matcha are preserved.

How do you make matcha with the whisk and scoop from the Aurora starter set?

Use the bamboo scoop to put around 1.5 to 2 grams of matcha into the bowl and pour in a small splash of water at around 80 degrees. Whisk with the bamboo whisk in a quick W motion until the lumps have gone and a fine layer of foam has formed.

Then top up with hot water or with warm milk for a matcha latte. Matcha does not need to be filtered, you drink the powder as well. Boiling water quickly makes matcha bitter.

How do you clean the bamboo matcha whisk from the Aurora starter set?

Rinse the whisk with warm water immediately after use and do not use any washing-up liquid. Then leave it to dry on the whisk holder supplied, so that the prongs keep their round shape.

We advise against putting the whisk, the scoop and the holder in the dishwasher, because bamboo can be damaged by it. Wash the bowl by hand with a soft sponge.
