These two-phase tablets clean the part of a coffee machine you cannot get at: the brew group, the pipes, the valves and the flaps. The first phase lifts the coffee residue, fats and oils that collect there; the second leaves a protective layer that slows down the next lot of deposits. What a cleaning tablet does that a rinse cannot

Coffee leaves fat and oil behind, and they collect where you never see them: in the brew group, the pipes, the valves and the flaps. A machine's own rinse cycle pushes water through that path, but water on its own does not shift oil, and oil left in a warm machine turns stale and ends up in the next cup. That is the work a cleaning tablet does.

Two phases in one tablet

Phase 1 — cleaning: removes stubborn coffee residues and oils.
Phase 2 — maintenance: leaves a protective layer behind, so new deposits find it harder to take hold.

Cleaning is not descaling

These cleaning tablets are intended for the parts that come into contact with coffee: the brewing unit, the lines, the valves and the flaps. They dissolve leftover coffee residue, fats and oils.

They do not replace a descaler and they do not replace a milk cleaner. You remove limescale with a descaler and you clean the milk carrying parts with a milk or cappuccino cleaner. Those are three different products that complement each other.
