Brita AquaAroma Crema - Water filter - Brita 101831

What it does

The AquaAroma Crema is Brita's filter cartridge for coffee machines with a built-in water tank. It goes into the tank itself and the water runs through it under gravity on its way into the machine, with no pump or plumbed connection involved, which is why it suits free-standing machines. What it takes out is the carbonate hardness in your water: the dissolved minerals that bake onto a heating element as limescale.

Does it fit your machine?

Two things decide it - how the machine gets its water, and which cartridge it was designed around. AquaAroma Crema is made for machines that hold their own water and feed it through by gravity. It is not a stand-in for Brita Intenza: if your appliance takes an Intenza cartridge, this is the wrong part.

Fitting and replacing

You change it yourself, in the tank, without tools: lift the old cartridge out, seat the new one in the same spot and fill the tank as usual. Check that it is seated properly before the tank goes back. Keep to the replacement interval your machine's manual gives, because a cartridge that has reached the end of its capacity looks no different from a fresh one.
